Froilán González (1943– ) was born in Las Tunas, Cuba. Graduated from law school at the University of Havana. Member of several institutions such as UNEAC (Cuban Writers' and Artists' Union) and the Cuban Movement for Peace and Sovereignty of the Peoples. In 1994 he and Adys Cupull were awarded the Prize of the Critics. Their books have been translated into French, English, Dutch, Chinese, Portuguese, Turkish, Italian, Greek, and German.
