Delsa Esther "Teté" Puebla (1940– ), a brigadier general (reserves) in Cuba’s Revolutionary Armed Forces, was a combatant in the 1956–58 revolutionary war, a founding member of the Communist Party of Cuba, and a founding member of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC).
Puebla joined the Rebel Army in 1957 and in 1958 became second in command of the Mariana Grajales Women’s Platoon, its first female combat unit. From February 1959, she has served as director of the Revolutionary Army’s efforts to assist war victims, their families, and the families of internationalist volunteers.
A founding member of the Communist Party of Cuba in 1965 and from 1980 to 1986 a member of the Central Committee, Puebla is a deputy to Cuba’s National Assembly and a member of the National Executive of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution. She is the author of Marianas in Combat: Teté Puebla and the Mariana Grajales Women's Platoon in Cuba's Revolutionary War 1956–58 (2003).
