Keen Interest in Pathfinder Press books at Los Angeles Book Fair

Los Angeles, CA — The Pathfinder Press booth, decorated with placards and book covers at the L.A. Times Festival of Books April 18–19, was packed with people wanting to read books by revolutionary and working-class leaders. The festival attracted an estimated 150,000, one of the largest book fairs in the U.S.

The overwhelmingly young visitors were interested in discussing the U.S. rulers’ drive to war and their attacks on Iran with Pathfinder Press volunteers staffing the booth. Many were interested in discussing Israel and its war to defend itself from Jew-hatred and pogroms. Over 100 titles on Cuba were purchased, reflecting the desire of many to learn more about the socialist revolution there and Cuba’s efforts to defend their revolution.

More than 400 books were sold.

Top sellers included Cuba and the Independence War in Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde: The Fall of the Last Colonial Empire in Africa by Cuban combatant Víctor Dreke, and Women in Cuba: The Making of a Revolution Within the Revolution.
