Pathfinder Press at Montreal Book Fair
Montreal, Canada – The Pathfinder Press booth was a hive of discussion at the November 19-23 Salon du livre. The annual book fair with over 500 booths is a major cultural event in Quebec that attracted over 100,000 people. The book sales were a dramatic increase over previous years reflecting the growing interest in the crisis of capitalism and imperialism’s march towards fascism and war.
The most popular books were Women’s Liberation and the African Freedom Struggle by Thomas Sankara and Are They Rich Because They’re Smart? by Jack Barnes.
A visitor to the booth bought Cosmetics, Fashion and the Exploitation of Women saying “we need to understand how the fashion industry manipulates us to make profits. This book explains that it’s capitalism which is behind this. This is a new idea for me.”
